Therapeutic Indications
Uses
Vitamin deficiency - multipleSymptomatic relief of muscular and joint stiffness and aches.
Unlicensed Uses
Dosage
Adults
Mild to Moderate Deficiency
1-3 capsules three times a day depending on age and the severity of the deficiency
or
5-10ml liquid per day depending on age and the severity of the deficiency.
Dietary Supplement
1-2 capsules three times a day before meals
or
10ml liquid per day.
Women who are pregnant, lactating or likely to become pregnant should take 1 capsule three times a day or 5ml of the flavoured syrup per day (see ' Pregnancy' and 'Lactation' section). The manufacturers of pure cod liver oil recommend that it should not be taken during pregnancy
Elderly
Children
Not all brands are licensed for all indications and in all age groups.
1-2 capsules three times a day before meals for children over 6 years old
or
5ml of the flavoured syrup per day in children over 4 years old.
The manufacturers of pure cod liver oil do not recommend its use by children under 15 years of age.
