    Parenteral nutritional support

    Dosage

    Due to the complexity and specialist nature of using parenteral nutrition, specific dosing information on this agent is not included.

    When using this agent, specialist literature, national guidelines and Trust policies should be consulted to ensure appropriate dosage and assessment of patient factors.

    Administration

    For slow intravenous infusion after reconstitution and dilution by addition to an infusion solution.

    None known

    Contains soya or soya derivative
    Consult local policy/product literature on the safe use of the TPN product

    Pregnancy and Lactation

    Pregnancy

    Use parenteral nutrition with caution during pregnancy.

    Vitamin additives can and should be used when the mother has real deficiencies. When vitamins are used in amounts not exceeding the recommended daily requirements, no hazard may be expected.

    Lactation

    Use parenteral nutrition with caution during breastfeeding.

    Vitamin additives can and should be used when the mother has real deficiencies. When vitamins are used in amounts not exceeding the recommended daily requirements, no hazard may be expected.
