Topical formulation of nystatin with chlorhexidine hydrochloride.

Uses
Bacterial skin infections
Fungal infection of skin
Dosage
Adults
Apply to the affected area 2 to 3 times daily. Continue for 7 days after healing.
If the condition does not improve within 14 days of treatment, an alternative treatment should be substituted.
Children
Apply to the affected area 2 to 3 times daily. Continue for 7 days after healing.
If the condition does not improve within 14 days of treatment, an alternative treatment should be substituted.
Contraindications
None known
Precautions and Warnings
Pregnancy
Contains benzyl alcohol
Contains cetostearyl alcohol: may cause irritation
Contains polysorbate
Avoid contact with eyes
Avoid contact with mucous membranes
Continue treatment for 7 days after signs of infection have resolved
Discontinue if hypersensitivity reactions occur
Discontinue treatment if any infection worsens
Advise patient to see doctor if symptoms persist for 7 days with treatment
Pregnancy and Lactation
Pregnancy
Use nystatin with chlorhexidine hydrochloride with caution during pregnancy.
The manufacturer recommends caution if nystatin with chlorhexidine hydrochloride is used during the early months of pregnancy. The benefit of treatment must outweigh the possible risks.
Lactation
Nystatin with chlorhexidine hydrochloride is considered safe for use during breastfeeding.
